I have written a small app in C# that uses the DirectShow filters for Ogg to transcode to Ogg Theora on Windows. I thought some of you might find it useful. You can download it from here. After the recent court decision (see link, for example), people might get more interested in patent-free codecs and containers. I've read negative comments about Theora but after trying it, I find it good enough for many situations. In fact, I've used the above application to transcode many videos I have to Theora (and get rid of the "patent-loaded" versions). Bookmark it...             |
