In the meantime

A reader suggested a small tutorial on Windbg and its Sos.dll extension. I might very well take up the task at some point. But I have decided to write some DirectShow tutorials because there is very little "out there" on the subject (and I wanted to see how far we could go with C#). Beside Pesce's book, the documentation on DirectShow is limited to the SDK doc. Pesce's book is good but basic.

The situation on Windbg and Son-of-Strike is better in my opinion. There is Robbin's book which give an introduction (which is very similar to his article in MSDN entitled "SOS not just an Abba's song anymore" (or something similar). There is a book, in PDF format, on microsoft web site "Production Debugging for .Net Applications" (google "dbg_download.pdf" if it's not on ms web site anymore) which has a long chapter in which Sos uses are illustrated. And the Rotor's book has also a good presentation on the subject (beside the doc in the Debugging Tools download and the difference with rotor base-code).
